At Monuments, our licensed professional clinical staff assesses each student at the onset of his time here. Based on those assessments, we then develop an individualized strength-based treatment plan designed to guide the change and personal growth process.
Our goal is for the student to “change by choice.” We don’t believe in the embedded consequences methods of many other residential treatment programs. We want our students to understand how buying into the necessary changes in their lives is the reward in itself. This allows our students to develop trust in our team, rather than fear and distrust that has been the pattern of much of their previous life.
What types of treatment does Monuments use?
At Monuments, we know every young man who comes our way is unique. Our program was created to work with young men who have been burdened by months or years of emotional pain or behavioral issues. In some cases, the student has had to endure crippling depression or anxiety. In others, there has been past trauma or loss.
We employ a variety of treatment types because some methods work great for some students but not for others, and vice versa. Here’s a list of the treatments we use:
- Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
- Compassion Focused
- Dual Diagnosis
- Emotionally Focused
- Family Systems
- Family Weekends on Campus
- Individual, Family & Group
- Substance Abuse
At Monuments all of our treatments are intended to come from a perspective of healing, not a place of shame. Our students have often been stigmatized in their past. Our treatments provide a rite of passage transitioning from that past to a new, healthier future.
