Justin’s passion for the outdoors was ignited at an early age. Growing up in Utah, the Wasatch and High Uintah mountains provided a perfect setting for him to hone his backcountry wilderness skills. After a four year enlistment in the military Justin began his mental health career in wilderness therapy program. There he was able to share his love and passion for outdoor adventure with both the staff and students. Justin has now been working with young adults and adolescents for 18 years in both wilderness and residential settings.
Justin earned his bachelor’s degree through Prescott College in the therapeutic use of adventure, education and art; and will soon finish his master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He believes in a holistic and relational approach to working with youth. He attributes his success as a mentor to the forming of trusting and authentic relationships with each individual client.
Justin is an accomplished outdoorsman, wilderness guide, wood carver, and teacher.
Justin is married with two children. In his free time, he loves to spend time outdoors with his family, work on art projects with his children, and pursue his photography hobby.
